COMMON SENSE

I cannot remember the rules of life as prescribed by the rule makers, so I have to invent my own. Mine are much easier to follow because they are in pictures instead of words.
My rules come from understanding the situation and seeking an intelligent solution which is called common sense. A non-dyslexic person just follows the rules. There is no need for common sense.

RULES OR ROUTINE

To replace the need for rules, a dyslexic will develop routines. I find this can lead to quite complex procedures. For instance how complex can making coffee with a plunger type jug be?

My routine involves heating the plunger jug with boiling water which is then transferred to heat milk warmer and coffee cup to conserve energy. A level measure of coffee into jug quickly followed by more boiling water, not to the top. A spoon heated in in milk warmer is used to break froth and stir the coffee to get good mixing then wash coffee froth from above the coffee and bring level up to maximum without spillage. More boiling water to heat plunger before sitting carefully on top with plunger withdrawn.

ANXIETY
I believed I have lived in a constant state of anxiety all of my life. Dyslexia makes you feel inferior to your peers. They naturally regard you as inferior even though you are probably more intelligent than they are.
The state education curriculum / league-table driven system goes out of its way to make you feel inferior. By taking dyslexics out of the classroom and putting them into a special class for those with learning difficulties, they might just as well sit them in the corner of the classroom with dunce-caps on their heads.

The system justification is that they are doing something about the "learning-difficulty" children. In fact, they are not training their minds to think, per Albert Einstein's quote. All they are doing is forcing them to learn "clever clog" ways to remember facts in order to pass exams.

DEMENTIA

Being a DYSLEXIC, I believe I am in a better position than most to understand DEMENTIA.

I believe that DEMENTIA is the NATURAL DETERIORATION of the MEMORY FUNCTION of the mind as part of the AGING PROCESS.
It is more noticeable in people who are NOT dyslexic.

It may well be aggravated by a basic overload of the mind in a similar way that old computer hard drives start running out of space causing the computer operation to slow down.

The National Curriculum creates a section of society who become ACADEMICALLY ELITE with minds so full of Knowledge there is little room for common sense.
