A FERVANT FAN OF DOC MARTIN FOR MY MEDICAL ADVICE
DOC MARTIN
The series is especially good for dyslexic people, although it does not always get it right with respect to dyslexia.

FAMILIARITY means you don't need to waste time and energy trying to remember people's names and faces.
These days, there seems to be a growing trend in film making to introduce maybe a dozen of the cast in the opening minutes, in order to save time.
This is OK for non-dyslexic people who can remember them.
I quickly go into overload (the same way as dyslexic children do in the classroom)
I might just as well turn off the TV at that point. By the end of the film, if I last that long (I usually fall asleep through boredom) I couldn't care less who murdered who and why.

With the DOC you can relate to all the situations because it is like every-day life for most of us, especially for dyslexics.
There is enough humour to keep a smile on your face.

MEDICAL MATTERS are addressed in a most informative way.
I presume the script writers refer to medical experts, or at least have a large medical dictionary at hand.
The people Portwenn seem to have suffered every condition there is and of course the Doc finds a solution.

PHYSICAL HEALTH is dealt with in a most educational way which is the added bonus of the DOC MARTIN series.

MENTAL HEALTH dealt with very carefully as it is very much less well defined.
DYSLEXIA, as a subject, is not addressed per se, due to its complexity and because it is little understood.
There are one or two remarks which suggest an incorrect assessment of the subject.
I would be more than happy to join the script writer team to strengthen their understanding.
